Numbers 27 – A new leader for Israel…

      • Zelophehad – one of the men from the tribe of Manasseh – died having no sons…

      • 5 daughters – Mahlah (disease) / Noah (motion) / Hoglah (bird) / Milcah (queen) / Tirzah (favor)…

      • If she does not kill herself – she is neglected by her family as an outcast / trash…

      • In Saudi Arabia – women are not allowed to drive / own land / choose a husband…
      • Sa Saudi Arabia – ang mga babahe indi pwede ka drive / iya nga duta / pagpili sang iya nga bana…
      • Women can be married off by their fathers at any age – men can have up to 4 wives!
      • Ang mga babahe ipakasal sang ila nga mga amay sa bisan pila nga edad – ang mga lalaki pwede makapangasawa sang asta sa 4 ka asawa!
      • Women cannot go out in public without a male escort – father / brother / husband…
      • Ang mga babahe indi makalakat sa guwa kung wala sila upod nga lalaki / utod ng lalaki /bana…
      • Women’s rights come from the Bible – it is God who established equality!
      • Ang kinamatarung sang mga babahe naghalin sa Bible – ang Ginoo amo ang nagpatindog sang ekwalidad!
      • Galatians 3:28 – “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
      • Galacia 3:28 – “Karon palareho na lang ang mga Judio kag ang mga indi Judio, ang mga ulipon kag ang mga indi ulipon, ang mga lalaki kag ang mga babayi. Kita tanan palareho na lang tungod nga kita ara na kay Cristo Jesus.”

      • Give a hearty ‘thank you’ to the Lord – He is the God who loves all equally!
      • Maghatag kamo sang ‘pagpasalamat’ sa Ginoo – Siya amo ang Ginoo nga nagahigugma sa aton sang patas!
      • After the 2nd Census – division of the Land – they had been left out…
      • Pagkataposa sang ika duwa nga Census – pagtunga sang duta – sila nabilin ….
      • Their father was among those who had perished in the 40 year wandering…
      • Ang ila nga mga Amay amo ang mga nadula sa sulod sang 40 ka tuig nga paglibot nila…
      • He had not taken part in the rebellion of Korah – but he died like the rest of Israel…
      • Siya wala sang labot sa pagrebelde sa Korah – pero napatay siya pareho sa tanan nga taga Israel…
      • When he died he left no sons to pass on his inheritance in the Promised Land…
      • Sang siya napatay wala siya sang anak nga pasahan sang iya nga pamana sa ginpromisa nga Duta…
      • Why should they suffer the loss of their inheritance – they had done nothing wrong…
      • Ngaa ma antos sila sa pagkadula sang ila nga imana – wala man sila sang sala nga nahimo…
      • They wanted a portion of land – along with their father’s brothers…
      • Gusto nila sang parte sa Duta – kaupod sa mga utod nila sa ila Amay…
      • God does not punish the children for the sins of their fathers…
      • Wala gina silotan sang Ginoo ang anak kung iya ini sala sang Amay…
      • * Ezekiel 18:20 – “The son shall not bear The guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.”
      • * Ezekiel 18:20 – “Ang tawo lang nga nakasala amo ang mapatay. Ang Anak indi dapat silutan tungod sa sala sang iya amay, kag ang amay indi dapat silutan tungod sa sala sang iya amay, Ang matarong nga tawo pagabalusan sa iya matarong nga mga ginahimo, kag ang malaot nga tawo pagasilutan sa iya malaot nga mga ginahimo.”
      • It is true our parents have a HUGE influence on us – either good or bad…
      • Tood nga ang aton mga Ginikanan may ara sang DAKO nga impluwensiya sa aton – maayo man ini ukon malain..
      • But God does not punish us for the mistakes of our parents…
      • Pero ang Ginoo wala nagasilot sa aton sa mga sala nga ginhimo sang aton mga ginikanan..
      • But we can learn from their mistakes – not follow in their footsteps…
      • Pero makatuon kita sa ila nga mga sala – indi pagsundon ang ila gin agyan..
      • Instead choose to obey/follow the Lord – and receive our inheritance in Heaven!
      • Imbes nga pilion naton ang pagpati/pagsunod sa Ginoo – kag batonon ang mana sang Langit!
    • God’s answer to Moses… vs. 5-11
    • Ang Ginoo nagsabat kay Moses… vs. 5-11
      • Moses did not know the answer – it was not yet in the Law – so he went to the Lord…
      • Wala nakabalo si Moses sang sabat – wala pa ini sa laye – gani nagpalapit siya sa Ginoo
      • There are a lot of circumstances in life the Bible does not deal directly with…
      • Madamo sang kabudlayan sa aton kabuhi nga wala ginsabat sang bible nga dirikta…
      • But just because the Bible is silent – does not mean we don’t have an answer…
      • Pero tungod nga ang Bible naghipos – indi bout silingon nga wala na kita sang sabat…
      • Moses could have guessed – I am sure he had his opinion…
      • Pwede pakton nalang ni Moses – sigurado gid ako nga may opinyon siya…
      • But even the Godliness men can be wrong – don’t have all the answers…
      • Pero sa pagkabalaan sang taho may mahimo gid siya nga sala – wala siya sang tanan nga sabat…
      • If we look to others to tell us what is right and wrong – what we should do…
      • Kung pangitaon ta ang taho nga mahambal sa aton sang sala kag insakto – ano ang aton nga himo-on ….
      • They are often more than willing to give us their opinion…
      • Sila kung kaisa mas gusto nga ihatag ang ila nga opinyon…
      • Are we allowed to gamble / see movies /whom should we marry…
      • Pwede bala kita maka panahor / lantaw sang mga movies / mapili kung sin-o aton pakaslan…
      • The problem is they cannot change our heart – we still want to gamble/watch…
      • Ang problema amo nga indi nila maislan ang aton tagipusoon – gusto dyapon naton mag panahor/ lantaw…
      • We are set up for failure – when we do what ‘they’ said not to – feel like a failure…
      • Kita mapaslawan gid – kung ginahimo naton ang ‘ila’ ginahambal nga indi – mabatyagan naton nga daw napaslawan kita…
      • But as we go to the Lord for the answer…
      • Pero kung kita magapalit sa Ginoo para mangayo sang sabat…
      • Not only does God give us the right answer – to any question…
      • Indi lang nga gina hatagan ta sang Ginoo sang insakto nga sabat – sa bisan ano nga pamangkot…
      • If He tells us not to do something – He will change our heart so we don’t want to!
      • Kung ginhambalan niya kita nga indi maghimo sang bisan ano – islan niya ang aton tagipusoon para indi tana gustohon nga himoun ang ina nga butang..
      • Pass on the inheritance…
      • Ipasa ang inugmana…
      • God’s answer to Moses was to pass on the inheritance to the closest relative…
      • Ang sabat sang Ginoo kay Moses amo nga ipasa ang mana sa malapit niya pariente…
      • If there was no son – the daughter / father’s brother / grandfather’s brothers…
      • Kung wala sang bata nga lalaki – ang bata nga babahe / utod sang iya amay / ang apo sang iya utod…
      • That way the Land would stay in the family – an everlasting inheritance…
      • Sa sina nga paagi ang duta maga tinir sa ila nga pamilya – wala sang katapusan nga mana…
      • These women could have said nothing – and nothing would have changed…
      • Ang Ini nga mga babahe indi gid makahambal sang bisan ano – kag wala gid sang butang nga mabag-o
      • Their inheritance would have been lost – their family name forgotten…
      • Ang ila nga mana pwede madula – ang pangalan sang ila nga pamilya malipatan..
      • But these women were willing to stand up – not just accept what life brought them
      • Pero ang ini nga mga Babahe gusto dyapon magtindog – indi lang nga batunon ang ihatag sang kabuhi sa ila…
      • Many people go through their entire lives – just going with the flow…
      • Madamo sang taho ang nag agi sa bilog nila nga kabuhi – upod lang sa agos…
      • They refuse to make any real decisions – they have no real plans…
      • Ginasikway nila nga maghimo sang matood nga mga desisyon – wala sila sang matood nga plano…
      • But then complain because they do not like where life takes them…
      • Pero mareklamao dayon kay tungod indi nila gusto kung diin sila dal-on sang Kabuhi…
      • If we don’t stand up in life and make choices – that is OUR choice…
      • Kung indi kita magtindog kag maghimo sang mga pagpili – ina ang ATON nga pagpili…
      • We forfeit our choice to others – and have no right to complain about the results…
      • Ginabawalan naton ang pagpili sa iban – kag wala sang kinamatarong nga magreklamo sa resulta…
      • Don’t be reactive in life – be pro-active – stand up and choose to follow Jesus!
      • Indi mag reklamo lang sa kabuhi – giyo – tindog kag pili-a nga magsunod kay Jesus!
      • Anointing a new leader… vs. 12-23
      • ang pagpili sa bag-o nga lider… vs. 12-23
    • The prediction of the death of Moses… vs. 12-14
    • Ang pagpakot sa kamatayon ni Moses… vs. 12 -14
      • Moses was to climb up to the top of Nebo – from there he could see the Promised Land…
      • Si Moses magasaka sa punta sang bukid sang Nebo – didto makita niya ang bug-os nga gin promisa nga duta…
      • He would not be allowed in – he had struck the rock at Meribah – Numbers 20:24
      • Indi siya pwede kasulod didto – kay gin hampak niya ang bato sang Meribah – Numero 20:24
      • Instead – like Aaron – he would be gathered to his people – Moses would die…
      • Imbes – parehos kay Aaron – siya pagatiponon kaupod sa iya mga tinaho – Mapatay si Moses…
      • Though Moses did not enter in with Israel – he did get in – eventually…
      • Bisan nga si Moses wala naka sulod kaupod ang Israel – siya nakasulod gid – eventually…
      • When Jesus went up to the top of Mt. Hermon – in the Promised Land…
      • Sang si Jesus nagsaka sa babaw sa Bukid sang Hermon – sa gin promisa nga duta..
      • Moses and Elijah appeared there with Him – Luke 9:30…
      • Si Moses kag si Elijah nagpakita nga kaupod siya – Lucas 9:30 ….
      • And it is believed he will one day stand in Jerusalem – Revelation 11:3
      • Kag ginapatihan nga siya pila ka adlaw maga tindog sa Jerusalem – Pahayag 11:3
      • Sometimes we when we mess up we feel like we have really ‘blow it’…
      • Kung kis-a kung kita makasala pamatyagan naton nga daw ginpala-la pa gid naton ang mga butang..
      • We assume we have missed our opportunity for the blessings of God…
      • Gina panumdon naton nga wala naton na kuha ang oppurtunidad nga mabaton ang Bugay sang Ginoo…
      • Back in the early 90’s a really wanted to be a missionary in Russia…
      • Sang 90’s, gusto ko gid nga mangin misyonaryo sa Russia…
      • But made some poor choices – and ended up missing out on the opportunity…
      • Pero naghimo ako sang mga pigaw nga pagpili – kag nasapwan ako nga wala ko nakuha ang oppurtunidad..
      • I kind of figured I missed my chance – and that I would not get another…
      • Ginpaminsar ko nga wala ko nakuha ang chansa – kag basi indi na ako makabaton pa liwat…
      • But God a God of Grace – He is the God of 2nd – 3rd – 490th chances…
      • Pero ang Ginoo sang Grasya – Siya amo ang Ginoo sang ikaduwa -ikatatlo -ika 490 ka mga chansa…
      • We might end up ‘delaying’ a work God wanted to do in our lives…
      • Masapwan kita nga ‘ginapadugay’ ang ubra sang Ginoo sa aton nga kabuhi..
      • But our mistakes do not stop God – in fact He can turn them into blessings!
      • Pero ang aton nga sala wala nagapa pundo sa Ginoo – sa pagkamatoud, gina islan niya ini bilang isa ka Bugay!
    • Moses asked for a new shepherd… vs. 15-17
    • Si Moses nangayo sang bag-o nga manugbantay sang karnero… vs. 15-17
      • Moses did not argue with God…
      • Si Moses wala nakipaglalis sa Ginoo…
      • If I had been Moses I would have been pleading with God – let me in!
      • Kung ako siguro si Moses basi nagpakitlouy nako sa Ginoo – pasudla ko!
      • I would have argued – and pointed out all that I had done for the Lord – 40 years!
      • Basi ma lalis pako – kag ihambal ang tanan nga ginhimo ko para sa Ginoo – 40 ka tuig!
      • In II Kings 20:1 – King Hezekiah was told by the prophet Isaiah he was going to die…
      • Sa II Hari 20:1 – si Haring Hezekiah ginhambalan ni Propeta Isaias nga siya mapatay…
      • Instead of heading the word of the Lord – he argued and complained to God…
      • Imbes nga inchindihon ang pulong sang Ginoo – siya nakipalalis kag nag reklamo sa Ginoo…
      • So the Lord gave him an extra 15 years to live – which sounds like a good thing…
      • Gani ginhatagan siya sang Ginoo sang dugang nga 15 ka tuig para mabuhi – kung diin nami pamatian..
      • But it was during those 15 years his only son Manasseh was born…
      • Pero sa sulod lang sang 15 ka tuig nga ang iya bata nga lalaki nga si Manasseh mabata…
      • The most wicked king in all the history of Israel – cause of Israel’s destruction…
      • Ang pinaka malaot nga Hari sa kasaysayan sang Israel – ang rason sang pagkaguba sang Israel…
      • Because Hezekiah argued with the Lord – Israel was conquered by Babylon!
      • Kay tungod si Hezikiah nagpakiglalis sa Ginoo – nasakop sang Babylon ang Israel!
      • God knows what is best for us – even when we think He is wrong…
      • Kabalo ang Ginoo kung ano ang maayo para sa aton – bisan sa pamatyagan ta nga sala…
      • God Loves us – and will never do anything that is not in our best interest…
      • Palangga kita sang Ginoo – kag indi siya maghimo sang bisan ano nga butang nga indi makapamaayo sa aton…
      • No matter how much we might disagree – God is always going to be right…
      • Bisan pa nga indi kita magpasugot – ang Ginoo insakto gid permi…
      • The best decision we can every make is to accept God’s plan for our lives!
      • Ang pinaka manami nga decision ang aton mahimo amo ang pagbaton sa plano sang Ginoo sa aton nga kabuhi….
      • Moses had been the shepherd/pastor of Israel…
      • Si Moses amo ang nangin manugbantay sang karnero/ pastor sang Israel…
      • He had watched over them faithfully for 40 years – as they wandered in the desert…
      • Ginabantayan niya gid sila permi sa sulod sang 40 ka tuig – sang sila nagalibot sa desyerto…
      • He kept them from harm – made sure they had food and water…
      • Ginlikaw niya sila sa ma halit – ginsigurado niya nga may pagkaon sila kag tubig…
      • He knew they’d quickly get into trouble without someone looking after them…
      • Kabalo siya nga kung wala sila sang bantay, sila madali gid sa mga gamo…
      • So he asked God for a new shepherd – someone to Love the people in his place!
      • Gani nangayo siya sa Ginoo sang bag-o nga manugbantay sang karnero – ang taho nga magapalangga sa mga taho didto sa iya nga lugar….
      • Moses thought nothing of himself – his only concern was for the people of God…
      • Wala nagapaminsar si Moses sang iya kaugalingon – ang iya lang kabalaka amo ang para sa mga tinaho sang Ginoo
      • This is one of the truest pictures of a pastor’s/shepherd’s heart in the Bible…
      • Amo ini ang pinaka matuod nga ehemplo sang isa ka tagipusoon sang pastor/ manugbantay sang karnero sa Bible…
      • I have met many ‘pastors’ who were only looking out for their own interests…
      • Damo ko kilala nga mga ‘pastor’ nga ang ila lang mga gusto ang ila ginapangita…
      • And when times get tough – when people don’t show – when there is no money…
      • Kag kung mag-abot ang mga kabudlayan – kung ang mga taho wala nag abot – kung wala kwarta…
      • They leave – without any thought for the sheep – only caring about themselves…
      • Sila nagahalin – nga wala nagapanumdom sa mga karnero – ila lang nga kaugalingon ang ginakabalak-an.
      • * John 10:13 – “The hireling flees because he… does not care about the sheep.”
      • * Juan 10:13 – “Ang Sinuhulan nagapalagyo, tungod kay sinuhulan man lang siya kag baliwala lang sa iya kon ano ang matabo sa mga karnero.”
      • A godly pastor is not looking out for his own needs – but the needs of his sheep…
      • Ang Diosnon nga Pastor wala nagakabalaka sa kung ano ang iya kinahanglan – pero ang kinahanglan sang iya nga mga karnero…
      • A good pastor is the one who lives his life – gives his life for God’s people…
      • Ang Maayo nga Pastor amo ang nagakabuhi sang iya nga kabuhi – ginahatag ang iya nga kabui sa mga tinaho sang Ginoo….
      • * John 10:11 – “The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.”
      • * Juan10:11 – “Ako amo ang maayo nga manugbantay sang mga karnero. Ang maayo nga manugbantay desidido nga mapatay para sa iya mga karnero.”
    • God’s choice was Joshua – a man full of the Spirit… vs. 18-23
    • Ang maayo nga pagpili amo si Joshua – ang taho nga napun-an sang Espirito… vs. 18-23
      • Moses was to lay hands on him in front of all of Israel…
      • Ibutang ni Moses ang iya kamot kay Joshua sa tubangan sang bilog nga Israel…
      • Symbolically transferring Moses authority to Joshua – making him Israel’s new leader
      • Isaylo ang awtoridad ni Moses kay Joshua – himoon siya nga bag-o nga lider sang Israel…
      • He now would stand before the Lord – inquire with the Urim (stones in the ephod)…
      • Siya magatindog subong antis sa Ginoo – magapamangkot siya sa Urim (bato sa ephod)…
      • He would lead Israel into the Promised Land!
      • Siya magadumala sang Israel pakadto sa ginpromisa nga duta!
      • Moses represents the Law of God – he received God’s commands on Mt. Sinai…
      • Gina reprisinta ni Moses ang laye sang Ginoo – ginbaton niya ang sugo sang ginoo sa bukid sang Sinai…
      • The Law can lead you to the ‘Promised Land’ – but the Law cannot take you in…
      • Ang laye magadumala sa imo sa gin ‘Promisa nga duta’ – pero ang laye indi makapasulod sa imo didto …
      • Instead of Moses – Joshua (Jesus) would lead Israel into the Promised Land…
      • Imbes nga si Moses – Joshua (Jesus) ang magadumala sang Israel sa gin promisa nga duta…
      • We cannot get to heaven – the Promised Land – by keeping the Law / Good works..
      • Indi kita makapalangit – gin promisa nga duta – kung sundon talang ang laye/ maayong buhat…
      • The Law can show us we are not good – but it can do nothing to make us good…
      • Ang laye magapakita nga kita indi maayo – pero wala ini sang may mahimo para kita mangin maayo…
      • The only way to get into heaven – is by following Jesus into God’s Promise!
      • Ang alagyan lang gid nga makalakat ta sa langit – amo ang pagsunod kay Jesus sa Ginpromisa sang Ginoo!

Numbers 28-29 – the required sacrifices…

  • Offerings to the Lord… Read: Numbers 28:1-2 / 29:39-40
  • halad sa Ginoo ….Basaha: Numero 28:1-2 / 29:39-40
    • God commanded Israel to offering constant sacrifices at the Tabernacle…
    • Ang Ginoo nagsugo sa Israel nga maghalad permi sang pag sakripisyo sa tabernacle…
    • The regular sacrifices…
    • Ang permi nga pag sakripisyo …..
    • 1st – Morning & Evening sacrifices – one year old male lamb / grain / oil / wine…
    • 1st – aga kag gab-e nga pag sakripisyo – is aka tuig nga lalaki nga karnero/ bugas / mantika / bino….
    • 2nd – Sabbath sacrifice – 2 perfect one year old male lamb / grain / oil / wine…
    • 2nd – sakripisyo sa adlaw sang inugpahuway – 2 ka perpekto nga isa ka tuig nga lalaki nga karnero / bugas / mantika /bino
    • 3rd – New month sacrifice – 2 bulls / 1 ram / 7 lambs / 1 goat / grain / oil / wine…
    • 3rd – Bag-o bulan nga pagsakripisyo – 2 ka toro / 7 ka karnero / 1 ka kanding / bugas / mantika / bino…
      • All the animals had to be perfect – a burnt offering – swear aroma to the Lord…
      • Ang tanan nga sapat dapat perpekto – ang halad nga masunog – ang aroma para sa Ginoo…
      • The goat was to be a special sin offering for the nation of Israel…
      • Ang kanding amo ang mangin halad para sa sala para sa nasyon sang Israel…
      • The Jews use a Lunar calendar – 360 days / 12 months / 50 weeks in their calendar…
      • Ang mga Judeo nagagamit sang Lunar calendar – 360 ka adlaw / 12 ka bulan / 50 ka semana sa ila nga kalendaryo…
      • Meaning over 1 year – 904 lambs / 24 bull / 12 rams / 12 goats were sacrificed…
      • Bout silingon sobra sa 1 ka tuig – 904 ka mga karnero / 24 ka toro/ 12 ka ram / 12 ka kanding ang isakripisyo…
      • Along with hundreds of pounds of grain / hundreds of liters of oil and wine…
      • Kaupod sang ginatos nga mga bugas / ginatos nga litro sang mantika kag bino…
      • These were the sacrifices for Israel as a nation – to be offered by the priests…
      • Ini amo ang mga sakripisyo sang Israel bilang isa ka nasyon – inughalad sang mga pari…
    • The special ‘feast’ sacrifices…
    • Ang espesyal nga’piesta’ nga pagsakripisyo…
    • 1st – First month – Passover sacrifice – began the 7 days feast of Unleavened Bread…
    • 1st – una nga bulan – piesta sang paglabay sang anghel – nagsugod ang 7 ka adlaw nga piesta sang tinapay nga wala sang inugpahabok….
      • Each day of the 7 days – 2 bulls / 1 ram / 7 lambs / 1 goat / grain / oil / wine…
      • Kada adlaw sa 7 ka adlaw – 2 ka toro / 1 ka ram / 7 ka karnero/ 1 ka kanding / bugas / mantika /bino ….
      • These were in addition to the regular Morning & Evening and Sabbath sacrifices!
      • Ini ang mga dugang sa pag sakripisyo kada aga,gab-e kag sa adlaw sang inugpahuway!
    • 2nd – Pentecost – 2 bulls / 1 ram / 7 lambs / 1 goat / grain / oil / wine…
    • 2nd – Pentecost – 2 ka toro / 1 ka ram / 1 ka kanding / bugas / mantika / bino…
