  • Still on the mountain – 40 days and 40 nights – God gave commands for the PRIESTS…
  • Ara sa gihapon sila sa bukid- 40 ka adlaw kag 40 ka gab-e- ang Ginoo naghatag sang mando sa mga PARI..
  • 1^st – Moses was to set aside his brother Aaron and his FOUR sons…
  • 1^st– Moises kinahanglan nga painon ang iyan utod nga sa Aaron kag ang iya APAT ka mga bata..
    • Aaron – light bringer – the spokesman for Moses to the people of Israel
    • Aaron- manugdala sang suga- ang manughambal ni Moises sa mga katawhan sang Israelinhun..
    • Nadab – generous – the oldest son of Aaron / Abihu – he is my father
    • Nadab- pagkaalwan- ang subang nga bata Aaron/ Abihu- siya ang akon Amay..
    • These two oldest sons would be killed for not following the law – Leviticus 10:1-2
    • Ini nga duwa ka bata napatay kay wala nila ginsunod ang layi– Leviticus 10:1-2
    • Eliezar – God is my help (succeeded Aaron as the high priest)
    • Eleazar- Ang Ginoo iya manugbulig( ang nagbulos kay Aaron bilang isa ka mataas nga pari)
    • Ithamar – palm tree – youngest son of Aaron
    • Itamar- kahoy nga palma- pinakamanghod nga bata ni Aaron
  • 2^nd – They were to be the PRIESTS of Israel…

    • PRIEST – [כָּהַן – piel / infinitive] – to be a PRIEST means you are INTENSLY SERVING the Lord…
    • PARI- piel/infinitive]- para mangin PARI buot silingon ikaw mangin MABAKOD NGA NAGASERBISYO sa Dios..
    • A priest is a go between – he represents God to the people / and the people to God…
    • Ang pari natung-an sa- siya nagapresentar sa mga tawo parte sa Ginoo/ kag ang mga tawo sa Ginoo..
    • The people are far from God – could NOT approach God – did NOT know God…
    • Ang mga tawo layo sa Ginoo- INDI makipaghambal sa Ginoo- INDI makilala ang Ginoo…
    • Without the priest – there was no way for the people to hear from / know about God!
    • Kon wala sang Pari- wala sang iban nga paagi nga makabati ang mga tawo/kag makilala ang Ginoo!
    • The problem was Aaron was still human – he would die – and need to be replaced…
    • Ang problema si Aaron tawo lang- siya mapatay- kag kinahanglan nga paga ilisan…
    • He was also a sinner (golden calf) making him an imperfect go between at best!
    • Siya makasasala man( ang bulawan nga baka) siya nangin indi perpekto sapagpatunga kon ano ang maayo!
  • 3^rd – The better PRIEST – Jesus…

    • God gave us a BETTER high priest – one who lives forever – never sins!
    • Ang Ginoo naghatag sa aton sang MAAYO nga mataas na pari- siya magatiner hasta san-o- indi makasala!
    • Hebrews 4:14 – “That is why we have a great High Priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God. Let us cling to him and never stop trusting him.”
    • Hebreo 4:14-”Gani tipigan gid naton ang aton ginatuohan, tungod kay may gamhanan kita nga pangulo nga pari nga didto nasa langit. Kag ini wala sing iban kundi si Jesus nga Anak sang Dios..
    • Jesus is our mediator – He is the one who draws us close to God – I Timothy 2:5
    • Si Jesus ang aton manugpatunga- Siya ang magadala sa aton palapit sa Ginoo– I Timotoe 2:5
    • And we are all called into His service as PRIESTS of God…
    • Kag kita iya gintawag nga magserbisyo sa Iya bilang mga PARI sang Ginoo…
    • We have been called out of sin/darkness – into the light of Jesus Christ…
    • Gintawag kita magguwa sa pagpakasala/ sa kadulom- kag sa kasanag ni Jesus Christ..
    • As the special people of God – PRIESTS – we are called to INTENSLY proclaim the Good News…
    • Bilang isa ka espesyal nga katawhan sang Ginoo- PARI- kita gintawaag nga mangin MABAKOD nga manughambal sang Maayong Balita..
    • We go to let people know about God – tell them about salvation in Jesus!
    • Kita magalakat kag sugiran ang mga tawo parte sa Ginoo- sugiran sila parte sa kaluwasan kay Jesus!
    • I Peter 2:9 – “You are… a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
    • I Pedro 2:9-”Kamo..ang mga pari sang Hari, mga katawhan sang Dios. Nangin Iya kamo para magsugid sa iya makatilingala nga mga binuhatan. Siya nagtawag sa inyo halin sa kadulom pakadto sa iya makatilingala nga kasanag.
• 2^nd – Special CLOTHES… vs. 2-5
• 2^nd– ang espesyal nga panapton…vs.2-5
  • 1^st – Clothes for the priests… vs. 2-3
  • 1^st– Panapton sang Pari….vs.2-3
    • The PREISTS wear special clothing – for GLORY [לְכָבוֹד] – to be HEAVY (responsibility) …
    • Ang PARI nagasuksok sang balaan nga panapton- para sa HIMAYA- para PABUG-ATAN sang ( resposibilidad)…
    • And for BEAUTY – [תִּפְאָרָה] – make them stand out from among the people…
    • Para sa MATAHOM- sila pagahimuon nga magpabilin sa mga katawhan..
    • To CONSECRATE them [לְקַדְּשׁוֹ] – to set them apart – HOLY – as PRIESTS [piel] to God!
    • Sa PAGDEDIKAR sa ila- sa pagpain sa ila- BALAAN- nga PARI sang Ginoo!
    • In the same way we as believers should be set apart as representatives for Jesus…
    • Pareho man sina nga paagi kita nga mga tumuluo kinahanglan nga magseparar man kita bilang isa ka nagapresentar sa kay Jesus..
    • If we look the same as the world around us – why would they want to hear about Jesus…
    • Kon kita magtulok sa kalibutan nga gapalibot sa aton- ngaa gusto nila makabati parte kay Jesus..
    • It is by being different from the world – living for Jesus – people want to know more!
    • Ina bilang isa ka naglain sa kalibutan- nagakabuhi kay Jesus- mga tawo gusto pagid makabalo!
  • 2^nd – Colorful clothing… vs. 4-5
  • 2^nd– Ang Colorete nga panapton….vs.4-5
    • PRIEST had a robe / coat / sash (belt) / turban (hat) / and pants – embroidered with colors…]
    • PARI may ara sang kapa/ kunop/ paha/ turban ( kalo) kag pang-idalom- nabordahan sang nagkalain lain nga colorete..
    • BLUE – the color of the WORD of God…
    • ASUL- ang color sang PULONG sang Ginoo..
    • Numbers 15:39 – “Make tassels on the corners of their garments… put a BLUE thread in the tassels of the corners… look upon it and remember all the commandments of the LORD…”
    • Numero 15:39-” Ang ini nga mga gaway- gaway magapadumdom sa inyo sang tanan kon nga mga sugo para tumanon ninyo ini ang inyo lang gusto nga himuon”.
    • The BLUE was meant to remind them of the Word of God!
    • Ang ASUL gintuyo sa pagdumdom sa ila sang Pulong sang Ginoo!
    • If we desire to represent the Lord to a world that does not know Him…
    • Kon nagahandom kita nga erepresentar ang Dios sa kalibutan nga wala nakakilala sa Iya..
    • We must become men and women of the Word!
    • Kita mangin kalalakin-an kag kababainhan sang Pulong!
    • It is the WORD that has the power to save the lost – Romans 1:16-17
    • Ang PULONG may gahom sa pagluwas sa mga nawala- Roma 1:16-17
    • It is the WORD that has the power to give faith to the listener – Romans 10:17
    • Ang PULONG may gahom sa paghatag sang pagtuo sa mga nagapamati- Roma 10:17
    • RED – the color of REDEMPTION…
    • PULA- ang color sang KALUWASAN..
    • Hebrews 9:22 – “Without shedding of blood [RED] there is no [forgiveness].”
    • Hebreo 9:22-” Kon wala sang nag-ilig nga dugo [PULA] wala sing [ pagpatawad]
    • The price of salvation – the cross of Jesus – the only solution to for sin…
    • Ang presyo sang kaluwasan- ang krus ni Jesus- ang nagsolbar sang sala..
    • Without the cross there is no hope – no salvation – no heaven!
    • Kon wala sang Krus wala sing paglaom- wala kaluwasan- wala langit!
    • If we desire to represent the Lord to a world that does not know Him…
    • Kon nagahandom kita nga erepresentat ang Dios sa kalibutan nga wala nakakilala sa Iya..
    • We need to remember the cost of salvation – we need to put on Jesus – Romans 13:14
    • Ïndi naton pagdumdomon ang bayad sang kaluwasn- kinanglan naton nga igakabuhi si Jesus- Roma 13:14
    • Not live our lives as our own – but let the world see Jesus is our lives!
    • Indi magkabuhi sa aton lang kaugalingon- pero pasugti nga ang kalibutan nga makita nila si Jesus sa aton kabuhi!
    • GOLD – the color of a FAITH tested and tried by fire.…
    • BULAWAN- ang color sang PAGTUO natistingan sang kalayo….
    • I Peter 1:7 – “These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies GOLD.” [NLT]
    • I Pedro 1:7- “Ang inyo pagtilaw daw pareho sang inyo pagtuo nga matuod. Ini ginatestingan sa kalayo kag mangin matuod na BULAWAN”[NLT]..
    • When we have no money – when life gets hard – PRAISE the Lord…
    • Kon wala kita kwarta- kon ang kabuhi mabudlay- DAYAWON ang Dios…
    • Lots of people do NOT have food or money – but who thanks God for it!
    • Damo sang mga tawo WALA pagkaon ukon kwarta- pero sin-o makapasalamat sa Ginoo sina!
    • If we desire to represent the Lord to a world that does not know Him…
    • Kon nagahandom kita nga erepresentar ang Dios sa kalibutan nga wala nakakilala sa Iya..
    • We should not only praise God in the good times in life – but the bad as well…
    • Indi lang kita nga nagadayaw sa Ginoo kon ara kita sa maayo nga sitwasyon- pero sa kabudlayan man…
    • It shows we have faith in the Lord to provide for all of our needs…
    • Ina nagapakita nga kita may pagtuo sa Dios nga magahimuno sang aton mga kinahanglanon..
    • And the world watches us and sees something far more precious than GOLD…
    • Kag ang kalibutan nagatulok sa aton kag may makitasa aton nga kita mas bilidhun kay sa BULAWAN..
    • Faith that has been tested by the trials and difficulties of life!
    • Ang pagtuo ginatilawan paagi sa pagtilaw ukon sa kabudlayan sang kabuhi!
    • PURPLE – the color of ROYALTY…
    • PURPLE- ang color sang HARIANUN…
    • We have become heirs to all that God has – joint heirs with Jesus Christ!
    • Nangin manunubli kita sang tanan nga ang iya sang Dios- kaupod sang palanublion kay Cristo!
    • That means God desires to give us EVERYTHING – His KINGDOM – Luke 12:32

    • To the extent we will even sit on the throne with Jesus – Revelation 3:21

    • Far to often you see Christians with a frown – miserable – acting like paupers…

    • Churches going around begging from money – as if God is broke…
    • Mga Simbahan nag alibot nga naga pakitluoy sang kwarta- nga daw ang Ginoo maguba…
    • Who would want to follow that – who would want to be a Christian!
    • Sin-o sng gusto magsunod sina- sin-o ang gusto nga mangin Cristuhanun
    • If we desire to represent the Lord to a world that does not know Him…
    • Kon maghandum kita sa pag presentar sa Dios nga kalibutan wala naka kilala sa Iya..
    • We should live our lives like children of the King – children of God…
    • Kinahanglan ta magkabuhi sang kabuhi parehosa mga bata sang Hari- mga kaanakan sang Ginoo…
    • Showing the world – the incredible riches that come from a life that follows Jesus!
    • Pagpakita sang kalibutan- ang makatilingala nga manggad nga halin sa kabuhi nga naga sunod kay Jesus!

  • The High PRIEST – [הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדוֹל] – had additional clothing above the other PRIESTS…
  • ANG MATAAS nga pari- may madugang nga bayo sa mataas sa iban nga mga PARI…
  • 1^st – EPHOD – responsibility for others… vs. 6-14
  • 1^st-ESPESYAL NGA PANAPTON-responsibilidad sa iban… vs.6-14
    • EPHOD – [אֵפוֹד] – was like an apron worn over the robe of the High priest…
    • ESPISYAL NGA PANAPTON- pareho sang isa ka apron nga ginasuksok sa ibabaw sang kunop sang Mataas nga pari..
    • Attaching the front of the Ephod to the back were TWO onyx stones on the shoulders
    • Pagtapik sang atubang sang Espesyal nga panapton sa likod kon sa diin ang DUWA ka onix nga bato sa abaga…
    • On each of the stones were SIX of the names of the Tribes of Israel…
    • Sa kada isa nga bato may ara nga ANUM ka mga ngalan sang kada Tribu sang Israelinhun….
    • The PRIEST was to carry his brothers names before the Lord as a constant MEMORIAL!
    • Ang PARI amo ang magadala sang ngalan sang iya mga utod sang Dios nga amo ang magpadayon nga HANDUMANAN!
    • I had an uncle did not believe in Jesus – my Dad prayed for him for 20 years!

    • As a representative of God – we are called to reach others with the GOSPEL…

    • Yet one of the hardest people for us to reach with the Gospel is our FAMILY…
    • Pero ang pinaka budlay nga mga tawo amo ang pag dab-ot sa ila sang pulong amo ang aton PAMILYA…
    • Are we willing to put them – on our shoulders – carry them to the Lord…
    • Handa bala kita sa butang sa ila- sa aton abaga- nga dal-on sila sa Dios…
    • Are we willing to tell them – not just once but over and over – about the Love of Jesus!
    • Handa bala kita sa pagsugid sa ila- indi lang isa kundi sobra sobra pa- parti sa Gugma ni Jesus!
    • They may not believe in a day – it might take years of bringing them to the Lord!
    • Indi man sila magpati sa isa lang ka adlaw- basi malab-utan pa tinuig sa pag dala sa ila sa Dios!
  • 2^nd – BREASTPLATE of JUDGEMENT – knowing the will of God… vs. 15-30
  • 2^nd-Ang BULOBULSA SA DUGHAN sng PAGHUKOM-ang paghibalo sang kabubut-on sang Dios…vs 15-30
    • BREASTPLATE [חֹשֶׁן] – JUDGEMENT [מִשְׁפָּט] – to DISCERN how to lead the people…
    • BULOBULSA SA DUGHAN- PAGHUKOM – sa pag IHIBALO sa pag giya sa mga katawhan…
    • Over the top of the Ephod there was a cloth pouch 9×9 inches – with TWELVE stones…
    • Sa ibabaw sang Espesyal nga panapton may ara nga bulobulsa 9×9 inches ang kalabaon-nga may DOSE ka mga bato…
    • Each one of the stones had one of the names of the TWELVE tribes engraved on it…
    • Kada isa kabato may ara ngalan sang DOSE ka tribu nga ginpa ingreban ….
    • It was to be attached to the Ephod by GOLD chords tied to the onyx stones…
    • Kag natapik sa Espesyal nga panapton ang BULAWANA nga kulokadena nga nahigot sa onix nga bato…
    • As well as two BLUE chords attached on the bottom to the sash (belt) …
    • Pareho man sa duwa ka ASUL nga natapik sa tonga sang strap( paha)..
    • Aaron was to carry the names of his people over his HEART…
    • Si Aaron nagdala sang ngalan sang katawhan nga halin sa iya TAGIPUSUON..
    • Then the LORD would be CONTINUALLY reminded of His people!
    • Dayon ang DIOS maga PADAYUN sa pagpa dumdum sang Iya katawhan!
    • As we carry the burden of our family – we will also have a love for them in our HEART…

    • We will remember to pray for them – to take them before the Lord DAILY in prayer…

    • It is through prayer – the Lord is CONTINUALLY reminded of our families…

    • It is the Lord who can change a HEART – remove the blinders so they see they need Jesus!
    • Ang Dios amo ang mag bag-o sang TAGIPUSUON- pagakakson Niya ang nagabulag para sila makita nga kinahanglan nila si Jesus!
    • The URIM and the THUMMIM…
    • Ang URIM kag ang THUMMIM…
    • Inside of the pocket of the breastplate were the Urim and the Thummim…
    • Sa sulod sang bulobulsa sa dughan kon sa diin ara ang Urim kag Thummim…
    • Urim [אוּרִים] – lights / Thummim [תֻּמִּים] means – complete or perfections (plural) …
    • Urim -suga /Thummim/ buot silingon -kompleto ukon sa pagkaperpikto [plural]
    • They were used to LIGHT the PERFECT will of God for His people…

    • No one is entirely sure exactly what these were – PERHAPS a WHITE and BLACK stone…

    • You would ask God a YES or NO question then pull out a stone from the pouch…

    • If it was WHITE – then the answer was YES / if it was BLACK – then the answer was NO!
    • Kon ina PUTI – dayun ang sabat HUO/ kag kon ina ITOM- dayun ang sabat INDI!
    • How to we know the will of God today…
    • Paano naton mahibalu-an ang kabubuton sang Ginoo subong…
    • We no longer have STONES that we can pull out of a pocket to determine the will of God…
    • Wala nata sang BATO nga maka butong sang bulsa sa pag detirminar sang kabubut,on sang Dios…
    • We have someone FAR better – we have the Holy Spirit within us!
    • May ara iban nga MAS maayo- may ara kita sang Balaan nga Espirito nga ara sa aton!
    • John 16:13 – “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.…”

    • God is always right there with us – the Holy Spirit guiding us every day – therefore…

    • The blue robe – was to have Pomegranates and bells on the bottom…
    • Asul nga panapton- may ara nga POMEGRANATA kag KILINGKILING sa idalom..
    • The BELLS had a practical role – letting you know the PRIEST was alive…
    • Ang KILINGKILING may ara nga practical nga papel- sa pagpabalo nga ang PARI buhi..
    • Only the HIGH PRIEST went into the presence of the Lord – THE HOLY of HOLIES…

    • If he were not right before God – the Lord would strike him DEAD – the BELLS stopped…

    • We should bear FRUIT from our lives that show we believe in and follow Jesus!

  • 4^th – The GOLD MEDALION – mind set on the Lord… vs. 36-39

    • On the turban (hat) of the high priest was the GOLD MEDALION…
    • Sa turban( kalo) sang mataas nga pari amo ang BULAWAN NGA MEDALYA…
    • Inscribed on the medallion were the words [קֹדֶשׁ לַֽיהוָֽה] HOLINESS to the LORD…
    • Ang isulat sa medalya amo ang tinaga nga BALAANON nga DIOS…
    • The medallion was over the HEAD of the high priest – his mind SET APART for the Lord…
    • Ang medalya ara sa ULO sang mataas nga Pari- ang iya panghunahuna NASEPARAR sa Dios..
    • Bearing the SIN [עָוֹן] of the HOLY sacrifices of Israel to be accepted before the Lord !
    • Ang pagdala sang SALA sa BALAAN nga halad sang Israelinhun pagabatunon sang Dios!
    • If the only time we think about Jesus is at Bible study – or church on Sundays…

    • By pouring out the blood it symbolized the price of SIN – death – had been paid!

    • All men are sinners – Romans 3:23 – and SIN separates us from God…

    • The dilemma is the price – penalty for SIN is death – Romans 6:23

    • That is why under the Old Covenant – the Law of Moses – they sacrificed animals…

    • The animal would die in their place – pay the penalty / the price for their SIN…

    • The problem with animal sacrifices is they could only COVER SIN – not take it away!
    • Ang problema sang paghalad sang mga sapat amo lang ang MAGATABON sang SALA- indi sa pagkuha!
    • Hebrews 10:4 – “It is NOT possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.”

    • Every time they made a mistake – they had to go to the temple and offer a sacrifice!

    • That covered the SIN – it reminded them of the PRICE of SIN – but did not change the heart!

    • The sacrifices under the Law had no power to change the person to NOT want to SIN!

    • The Priests were not special because of the clothes they wore – Ephod / Medallion…

    • The Children of Israel were not special because they had come out of Egypt…
    • Ang kabataan sang Israelinhun indi espesyal tungod sila naka guwa halin sa Egipto..
    • What made all of these things special – was God lived there among His people!
    • Ano ang natabo ngaa ang ini nga mga butang nangin espesyal- ang Ginoo nagakabuhi sa Iya mga katawhan!
    • We are not special because of who we are – we are just clay pots – II Corinthians 4:7

    • A friend of God – spending time DAILY with the Lord in His Word and in prayer…
    • Ang abyan sang Ginoo- nagahatag sang tion ADLAW adlaw sa Dios sa Iya nga PULONG kag pagpangamuyo..
    • Overflowing with the Holy Spirit – full of the POWER of God…
    • Napun-an sang Balaan nga Espirito- Puno sang GAHOM sang Ginoo…
    • We shine to a world that does not know Jesus – effective as PRIESTS to our Lord!
    • Kita nagahatag sang kasanag sa kalibutan sa mga wala pa naka kilala kay Jesus- epiktibo bilang PARI sang aton Dios!
